I prefer to charge by the job rather than by the hour. Agreeing up front about the cost of the job seems to help everyone. That said, I estimate based on $45 per hour, which I also use for jobs that are difficult to estimate or otherwise want to be charged by the hour. Also, I have a one hour / $45 minimum charge for small jobs.
